Fire Alarm Technician

Role Purpose
To support fire alarm installation and maintenance activities, conduct site inspections, follow technical drawings, and assist in the setup and commissioning of fire alarm systems. Ensure smooth workflow by coordinating materials, tools, and system links with accuracy and compliance to safety standards.
Job Tasks, Duties & Accountabilities (TDA)
• Conduct site inspections for fire alarm installations, identifying issues and reporting for corrective action.
• Ensure all activities follow safety protocols and company standards.
• Review technical drawings, prepare list of materials required for the works, arrange required tools and tackles, carryout installation, guide installation team, wiring, and ensure alignment with project blueprints.
• Report any discrepancies in work or drawings and coordinate updates as needed.
• Transport materials and equipment to work sites and maintain an organized setup to increase efficiency.
• Coordinate with inventory teams to maintain a steady supply of necessary materials.
• Install conduit pipes, wiring, and fire alarm devices according to project specifications and safety standards.
• Perform wiring, ensuring quality and compliance with electrical codes.
• Test devices for functionality and connectivity, documenting locations and specifications.
• Connect devices to the main control panel and assist with final system tests for commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and document any issues during installation or testing.
• Follow safety guidelines, including PPE use, and report hazards.
• Regularly update supervisors on progress, challenges, and resource needs.
• Participate in team meetings and safety briefings to support coordination and safety adherence.
• Collaborate with the project engineer and team for a smooth workflow and carry out other works as instructed.

Job Specification

Qualification: ITI or Diploma in Electrical
Experience: Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience
Competencies (Skills, Knowledge & Behavior):
• Civil Defense Card Holder
• Ability to carry out trouble shooting
• Work with minimum wastage of materials
