Planning Engineer Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Additional certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP, Primavera Certification) is a plus.
Experience:
5–10+ years of experience in project planning, scheduling, and control (especially in construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, or industrial projects).
Hands-on experience in using Primavera P6, MS Project, and project management software.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project schedules (baseline and revised).
Prepare resource loading plans, cash flow projections, and progress S-curves.
Monitor project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Perform delay analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors for schedule updates.
Prepare look-ahead schedules (2-week, 4-week plans).
Manage Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance tracking.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Skills Required:
Expert in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Good understanding of project management methodologies (Critical Path Method - CPM, WBS, EVM, etc.).
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contracts.
Excellent reporting and communication skills.
Team player with leadership ability.
Preferred Certifications (optional but valuable):
PMP (Project Management Professional)
PMI-SP (Project Management Institute – Scheduling Professional)
