Project Engineer Requirements (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Additional certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
Experience:
10 - 15 + years of experience in project execution, site supervision, coordination, and project management.
Experience working on construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, industrial, or MEP projects depending on discipline.
Project Engineer - Civil:
Deep understanding of structural works, concrete, finishing, infrastructure (roads, bridges, buildings).
Ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, and client coordination.
Knowledge of building codes (ACI, ASTM, BS Standards, IS Codes).
Expertise in quantity surveying, BOQ preparation, and project documentation.
Project Engineer - Mechanical:
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping systems, firefighting, fabrication, and installation.
Familiar with mechanical codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, NFPA).
Able to manage system installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
Strong vendor and subcontractor management skills.
Project Engineer - Electrical:
Hands-on experience in LV/MV electrical works, BMS systems, lighting, power distribution, ELV systems.
Knowledge of standards like NEC, IEC, IEEE.
Ability to review shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and conduct inspections/testing.
Experience with electrical commissioning and handover.
Key Skills (for all disciplines):
Strong project coordination, scheduling, and reporting skills.
Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving ability on-site.
Ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and quality.
Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
Preferred Certifications (Optional but Advantageous):
PMP (Project Management Professional)
LEED Certification (for Civil/MEP projects)
OSHA Safety Certification
