Position Description
Under the supervision of the Fleet Services Manager, the Fleet Asset Coordinator is responsible for tracking and managing county-owned and county leased vehicles, heavy equipment, assets, parts and equipment, as assigned in accordance with Precinct 2 standards, Harris County Fleet Services and/or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for tracking all fleet assets which include, but are not limited to vehicles, heavy equipment, small equipment, buses, etc. in the Data Management System.
• Responsible for adding and removing fleet assets from county inventory, including toll road tags, fuel cards, emergency equipment features, toolboxes, etc.
• Ensure work orders are properly coded to the correct fleet asset.
• Reviewing for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to documentation standards required by Fleet Services.
• Manage Fleet Parts, always ensuring proper inventory to support the preventative maintenance and fleet services teams.
• Process and submit vendor invoices daily.
• Obtain the Fleet Service Manager’s approval for work orders that must be adjusted
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring of assets to develop asset utilization reports.
• Asset utilization reports will include recommendations to increase asset utilization and reduce lease costs where applicable.
• Proactive communication with user departments, preventative maintenance team, fleet services team, service team, fuel team as appropriate to clarify finished, completed, and billed work orders with ongoing communication and issue resolution.
• Ensure a high level of customer experience and focus.
• Maintain positive working relationships with user departments fleet repair team, preventative maintenance team and parts departments.
Education and Experience:
• Associates Degree
OR
• Comparable experience in asset management Two (2) years of Inventory Control and/or Asset Management experience
• Experience in the Automotive Industry (Dealership or Shop Environment)
Licensures:
• Valid KSA driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office

• Basic understanding of vehicle systems
• Basic understanding of computer keyboard operations
