As we expand, we are seeking a meticulous and reliable Part-Time Accountant to support our financial operations and help us maintain efficiency and accuracy in all financial matters.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Accountant with retail experience to manage day-to-day financial tasks, oversee inventory control, and ensure timely compliance with all statutory obligations including VAT. This role requires someone highly organized, discreet, and familiar with accounting best practices in a retail setting. You will work closely with the owner and store team to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile all company accounts and general ledger entries
Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare and track purchasing orders, supplier payments, and vendor accounts
Perform inventory control in coordination with store staff (stock checks, valuations, loss tracking)
File and manage VAT records, returns, and compliance documentation
Create and maintain accurate financial reports, profit/loss statements, and cash flow projections
Assist in monthly financial reviews and budget analysis
Manage petty cash and bank reconciliations
Ensure all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready
Provide recommendations for improving financial efficiency and inventory cost management
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably within retail or FMCG
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Zoho, or other cloud-based accounting software
Familiarity with Bahrain VAT regulations and retail financial practices
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and numerical accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking tools
Fluent in English
Able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines
Available in-person at least 2 days per week (more during month-end or audit periods)
