Job Summary: Nexcel Computer Systems WLL is seeking a skilled and motivated ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Technician to join our dynamic team. The ELV Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various ELV systems. These systems include but are not limited to security systems, communication networks, audio-visual equipment, and building management systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
• Install, terminate, and test cabling and components for various ELV systems, including:
o Structured cabling systems (data and voice networks)
o CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) systems
o Access control systems
o Public address (PA) systems
o Audio-visual (AV) systems
o Gate barriers and automatic door systems
o Other related ELV systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation manuals.
• Configure and program ELV system components and integrate them with other building systems.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshoot system malfunctions to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in ELV systems and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
• Conduct testing and commissioning of installed ELV systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Document all installation, maintenance, and repair activities accurately, including wiring diagrams, test results, and service reports.
• Collaborate effectively with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of ELV systems.
• Adhere to all relevant safety codes, standards, and regulations during installation, maintenance, and repair work.
• Maintain tools and test equipment in good working order.
• Stay updated with the latest industry advancements and technologies in ELV systems.
• Respond to service calls and provide on-site support as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Diploma or vocational training in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ELV systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with a variety of ELV systems (as listed in the responsibilities).
• Strong knowledge of wiring standards, termination techniques, and cable management best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using various testing equipment and tools relevant to ELV systems.
• Good understanding of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Candidate with valid driving license preferred
