A Warehouse Picker is responsible for selecting and preparing items for shipment or delivery according to customer orders. Key responsibilities include:
Order Picking: Accurately locate, select, and retrieve items from storage areas based on order lists or pick tickets.
Packing: Prepare picked items for shipment by securely packing and labeling them.
Inventory Management: Assist with tracking inventory levels, reporting shortages, and ensuring proper stock placement.
Quality Control: Inspect items for damage or defects before packing and ensure order accuracy.
Equipment Use: Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks or hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
Work Area Maintenance: Keep picking and packing areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and reading skills are essential. While prior experience is beneficial, on-the-job training is often provided.
