Job Title: Production Superintendent – Ethylene Cracker Plant
Job Purpose
Provide focused leadership to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations of the Ethylene Cracker Plant. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, improving plant efficiency, optimizing resources, and ensuring high-quality, sustainable production while maintaining compliance with process safety and regulatory standards.
Job Summary
The Production Superintendent will lead plant operations for the Ethylene Cracker unit, ensuring smooth daily activities, troubleshooting issues, supporting turnaround (TAM) planning, and driving continuous improvement. The role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams to align with organizational goals, manage change, and enhance plant reliability and performance.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (mandatory).
Experience Requirements
12+ years of experience in Ethylene Cracker Plant operations (any relevant steam cracking technology).
Proven expertise in plant startup, shutdown, and turnaround management (TAM).
Strong background in troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), change management, risk assessment, and process safety.
Experience in managing production monitoring, chemical inventory, mass balance, and daily operational controls.
Demonstrated leadership in managing technical teams and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure smooth production operations and product quality compliance.
Monitor and optimize plant performance against KPIs, taking corrective actions as needed.
Troubleshoot operational issues and develop effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with EHHS, RC, and government regulations.
Lead and oversee RCAs, technical investigations, and open recommendations.
Review and optimize maintenance and PM (preventive maintenance) strategies in coordination with maintenance and reliability teams.
Support turnaround (TAM) planning, implementation, and lessons learned for future improvements.
Ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC) procedures for all process, equipment, and operational changes.
Monitor raw material usage, coordinate with procurement/logistics, and optimize resource utilization.
Report and address plant performance killers, bad actors, and sustainability KPIs.
