Job Description – Civil QC Engineer (Pipeline Project)
Position Title: Civil QC Engineer / Inspector – Pipeline Project

Role Purpose:
To ensure that all civil construction activities related to the pipeline project are executed in compliance with project specifications, international codes/standards, and client requirements. The Civil QC Engineer will oversee inspections, quality documentation, and coordinate with construction teams to maintain high-quality workmanship and adherence to HSE guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, and standards related to civil works of the pipeline project.
Conduct inspections for excavation, trenching, bedding, backfilling, concrete works, and other civil activities.
Verify alignment, levels, and tolerances of pipeline-related structures (foundations, supports, crossings, culverts, etc.).
Monitor subcontractor civil works to ensure compliance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, and Quality Control procedures.
Prepare and maintain inspection records, checklists, and quality reports.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
Coordinate with client/consultant inspectors for site inspections and approval of works.
Ensure proper material approvals (MIR), calibration certificates, and batch testing records are maintained.
Support the QA/QC Manager in audits, internal reviews, and final project handover documentation.
Ensure civil works comply with project safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of QC experience in oil & gas pipeline or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of international codes/standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, API, ASME, etc.).
Familiarity with QA/QC systems, ITPs, and documentation requirements.
Experience with trenching, backfilling, concrete, road crossings, and associated civil works in pipeline projects.
Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of quality management software.
Excellent communication and reporting skills in English.
Preferred Certifications:
ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor (desirable).
CSWIP / ASNT Level II (advantage if dealing with NDT coordination).
NEBOSH / IOSH (advantage for HSE awareness).
