We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Piping Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team for an Oil & Gas plant project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring that all piping fabrication, installation, and testing activities meet project specifications, applicable standards, and client quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect piping fabrication, welding, erection, and support installation to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Verify material traceability, heat numbers, MTCs, and dimensional checks prior to installation.
Perform visual inspections of piping joints, weld bevels, alignment, and cleanliness before welding.
Coordinate with NDT teams for testing (RT, UT, PT, MT) and review test results.
Monitor hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests, flushing, and reinstatement activities.
Ensure proper documentation of punch items, NCRs, and initiate corrective actions where needed.
Review isometric drawings, piping plans, and P&IDs to verify construction against design intent.
Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test reports, and final turnover dossiers.
Work closely with construction, engineering, and client representatives to resolve quality issues and ensure timely progress.
Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of relevant QC experience in piping inspection within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or related industries.
Certifications:
Mandatory:
QA/QC Certification (ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or equivalent)
Strong familiarity with ASME B31.3, B31.1, and other relevant piping codes.
Preferred:
API 570 or equivalent piping inspection certification
Aramco CBT or SAP ID (if applicable by region/client)
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in interpreting isometric drawings, P&IDs, MTOs, and weld maps.
Strong understanding of materials, piping classes, fabrication methods, and pressure testing.
Languages: Fluent in English (written & spoken); Arabic is a plus.
Other: Good documentation, coordination, and communication skills; strong focus on quality and safety.
