### **Job Summary:**
The Engine Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gasoline and diesel engines used in vehicles, generators, and industrial equipment. ### **Key Responsibilities:**
* Inspect, diagnose, and repair engine systems (petrol and diesel) in vehicles, generators, or machinery.
* Perform routine engine maintenance, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tuning.
* Dismantle engines to locate and repair faulty components using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Rebuild or replace engines and related components as needed.
* Conduct compression, leak-down, and performance tests on engines.
* Interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and diagnostic data to troubleshoot engine issues.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time taken for each job.
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
* Keep tools, equipment, and work area clean and organized.
* Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians when necessary.

### **Required Skills and Qualifications:**
* Technical diploma or certification in mechanical or automotive engineering.
* Proven experience as an engine mechanic (gasoline and/or diesel engines).
* Strong knowledge of engine components, systems, and diagnostics.
* Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
* Familiarity with electronic diagnostic tools and software.
* Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Valid driving license.
