Responsibilities:
- Prepare authentic Middle Eastern dishes using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.
- Develop and update the menu with seasonal and regional Middle Eastern items that reflect cultural authenticity and customer demand.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on recipe execution, cooking techniques, portion control, and plating standards to ensure consistency and high performance.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with Bahrain’s health regulations, ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen and proper food handling at all times.
- Innovate and optimize kitchen processes by improving workflow, minimizing waste, and enhancing overall efficiency without compromising food quality.
- Monitor inventory of ingredients and spices specific to Middle Eastern cuisine, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective restocking.
- Ensure cost control by managing portion sizes, reducing food waste, and operating within the assigned kitchen budget.
- Conduct quality control checks on all dishes before service to ensure they meet presentation and taste standards.
- Create prep schedules and assign tasks to the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during peak hours.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure effective communication, proper dish presentation, and swift resolution of any food-related customer concerns.
- Modify traditional recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions or customer preferences while preserving authenticity.
- Participate in the hiring, mentoring, and evaluation of kitchen staff to maintain a strong, cohesive culinary team.
- Contribute to menu planning and special promotions for cultural events such as Ramadan, Eid, or national celebrations.
