Safety Officer - Compliance with Local Laws and Regulations
Ensure the factory complies with Bahrain Labour Law (Legislative Decree No. 36 of 2012) and other applicable health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Stay updated on any changes in Bahrain’s occupational safety standards.
Risk Assessment
Identify potential hazards (chemical, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
Conduct regular risk assessments and suggest preventive measures.
Safety Inspections and Audits
Perform routine inspections of machinery, equipment, and the workplace.
Ensure fire safety equipment (extinguishers, alarms) is functional and up to date.
Incident Reporting and Investigation
Document and investigate accidents, near misses, and injuries.
Recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and Awareness
Conduct HSE training sessions for staff (e.g., fire drills, PPE use, first aid).
Promote a culture of safety among all employees.
Enforcement of Safety Policies
Ensure workers wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Enforce safety procedures and disciplinary actions for non-compliance.
Emergency Preparedness
Develop and implement emergency response plans (fire, chemical spills, evacuation).
Coordinate with local emergency services if needed.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain safety logs, audit reports, injury/illness records.
Prepare reports for management and government inspections.
Coordination with Authorities
Liaise with Labour Ministry inspectors and other government bodies during audits or investigations.
Environmental Safety
Ensure safe disposal of hazardous waste and compliance with environmental laws.
