You will be responsible for managing and coordinating import shipments via air and ocean freight. This role requires a strong understanding of international shipping regulations, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage import shipments from origin to final destination via air and ocean freight
Prepare and process import documentation including ISF, customs clearance paperwork, and delivery instructions
Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery
Track and trace shipments; provide clients with regular status updates
Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and internal procedures
Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional service through prompt communication and issue resolution
Maintain accurate records
Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure efficient flow of information and goods
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in freight forwarding
Strong knowledge of import documentation and Customs regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer service
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Proficient in Microsoft Office and freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya etc.)
Detail-oriented, organized, and a proactive problem-solver
