Job Description

AC Technician Duites and Responsibilites

1. Installation and Setup
Install new AC systems: Install air conditioning units in hotel rooms, common areas, and other spaces as needed.
Ensure correct placement and setup: Verify that the AC units are installed correctly and are positioned to provide optimal cooling or heating.
2. Maintenance and Repairs
Routine maintenance: Perform regular checks and maintenance on air conditioning systems to ensure they are running efficiently, including cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, and inspecting electrical components.
Troubleshoot and repair: Diagnose and repair issues with AC units, such as cooling inefficiency, electrical problems, or mechanical failures.
Preventive maintenance: Carry out preventative tasks to avoid breakdowns, including lubricating moving parts and checking thermostat accuracy.
3. System Monitoring
Monitor system performance: Ensure that the hotel's AC systems are operating at optimal levels, adjusting settings when necessary to provide maximum comfort for guests.
Monitor energy consumption: Keep an eye on energy consumption to ensure the systems are running efficiently and suggest improvements where possible.
4. Customer Service
Address guest complaints: Respond to guest complaints regarding air conditioning problems in rooms or common areas. Ensure that issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Ensure comfort: Provide quick and effective solutions to ensure that guests' comfort is not disrupted due to AC-related issues.
5. Documentation and Reporting
Keep records: Maintain records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and parts used, including work orders and service reports.
Report issues: If major issues arise or significant repairs are needed, the technician is responsible for reporting the matter to the maintenance manager or hotel management.
6. Compliance and Safety
Adhere to safety standards: Follow health, safety, and environmental standards while handling refrigerants and electrical systems.
Comply with regulations: Ensure that all air conditioning systems comply with local building codes, environmental laws (e.g., refrigerant handling), and hotel policies.
7. Collaboration
Work with other departments: Coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, and other hotel departments to address issues and ensure timely resolutions.
Assist in renovations or upgrades: Participate in the installation of new systems or upgrades to existing systems as part of hotel renovations.
8. Inventory Management
Stock control: Monitor the inventory of spare parts, filters, and tools, ensuring that necessary items are available for repairs and maintenance.
9. Emergency Response
Emergency repairs: Be available for emergency callouts in case of AC breakdowns, particularly during peak seasons or in critical areas such as guest rooms or conference rooms.
10. Training and Development
Stay updated on new technology: Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in HVAC technology, particularly in relation to energy efficiency and sustainability.
Train junior staff: Provide guidance to junior technicians or other maintenance team members.
