Position: Electrical Quality Control Engineer

Job Summary:
The Electrical Quality Control (QC) Engineer/Inspector ensures that electrical installations, systems, and components meet project standards and specifications. The QC Engineer verifies that all work is carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and project-specific quality standards.

Responsibilities:
1. Inspection and Testing:
o Perform inspections on electrical installations, wiring, panels, transformers, and other systems to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
o Conduct tests such as insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, and high-potential testing as required.
o Review and ensure that all tests and inspections are properly documented.
2. Compliance with Standards:
o Ensure that all electrical work adheres to local, national, and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
o Monitor and verify that electrical installations conform to approved shop drawings, installation guidelines, and project specifications.
3. Document Review:
o Review and approve electrical materials, procedures, and test reports before installation and after testing.
o Verify that project documents such as drawings, material submittals, and inspection reports are up to date.
4. Coordination:
o Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with QC standards.
o Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues or discrepancies related to electrical quality.
5. Non-Conformance Management:
o Identify non-conformities, raise non-conformance reports (NCRs), and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
o Recommend adjustments or improvements to address recurring issues.
6. Auditing and Reporting:
o Perform internal audits of electrical work processes to ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols.
o Prepare and submit daily, weekly, or monthly quality control reports, including inspection and test reports.
7. Health and Safety:
o Ensure that all electrical QC activities are carried out following the health and safety regulations and company safety policies.
o Attend safety meetings and provide input from a quality control perspective.
8. Training:
o Provide guidance or training to electricians and other technical staff to maintain quality standards in electrical installations.

Qualifications:
1. Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
o Certification in Quality Control (optional but preferred).
2. Experience:
o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical quality control or electrical engineering.
o Experience with large-scale construction or industrial projects is a plus.
3. Technical Skills:
o Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
o Familiarity with electrical testing instruments such as multimeters, megohmmeters, ground testers, etc.
o Knowledge of industry standards like NEC, IEC, IEEE, and other electrical codes.
4. Soft Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
o Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
o Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Tools and Equipment:
• Electrical testing tools (e.g., insulation testers, voltage meters).
• Computer software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, QA/QC software).

Reporting:
• Reports directly to the Project Quality Manager or Construction Manager.
• Coordinates with the Electrical Project Engineer and other QC staff.
