1. Sr. Workshop Technician

Purpose and Responsibilities

Purpose of the job

Provide technical assistance in the repair and maintenance of various rotating equipment in the workshop or at customer sites.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1. Overhaul and repair of pumps, steam turbines gas, compressors, and associated rotating equipment. This includes API610 pump type ranges.
2. Comply with workshop procedures whilst ensuring all associated documentation is accurately completed
3. Prepare strip and re-build reports including generation of electronic version
4. Prepare repair recommendations and solutions
5. Competent in the use of all precision measuring equipment
6. Follow and update Quality procedures and documents
7. Follow all EHS procedures.
8. Prepare and execute EHS requirements including electronic versions.
9. Implementing instructions as recommended from engineering / supervision.
10. Installation and commissioning of rotating equipment
11. Pump operation and curve understanding
12. Responsible for safe execution of all lifting operations
13. All other duties as relevant to the post.

Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required

• Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent / Mechanical Engineering technical qualification
• 15 years’ experience of assembly, operation and testing of pumps, compressors and other
rotating equipment
• General computer skills (MS office)
• Balancing certification advantageous
• Lifting Supervisor Training advantageous
• Pump technical training

Competencies and behavior required (What strengths needed?)

• Good communication skills in English language, both verbal and written
• Mathematic skills
• Sound mechanical understanding with all or some of:
 Compressors
 Pumps
 Turbines
• Lifting – Slinging / rigging and overhead crane operation.
• Ability to work alone or part of a team
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
• Hands-on skills
