Railway Signaling Technician

Installation, testing and commissioning of the signalling systems (ETCS Level 1 and Level 2).
• checking and repairing individual aspects of signalling systems, such as track circuits and axle counters
• taking and recording readings of electrical and mechanical equipment
• checking and adjusting the points which switch the rails to divert trains from one track to another
• working with signalling equipment such as control panels and becoming completely familiar with the routes and train services they control
• maintaining signalling equipment.
• Inspect, adjust and maintain transit signal equipment, grade crossing warning devices and preempt devices, switch machines, switch circuit controllers, switch locks, signals and relay cases and racks.
• Bench tests and adjusts vital relays and other signals system apparatus.
• Assist in the coordination of signals contractors activities when and where necessary.
• Assist in spare parts setup and control.
