Job Summary:
The AutoCAD draftsman specializing in civil construction is responsible for creating accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD software for civil engineering and construction projects. Working closely with civil engineers, architects, and project managers, the AutoCAD draftsman plays a pivotal role in translating design concepts into actionable blueprints that guide the construction process.
Responsibilities:
Interpreting Design Specifications: Reviewing civil engineering designs, blueprints, and project specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and objectives of the project.
Creating Civil Engineering Drawings: Utilizing AutoCAD software to produce precise drawings, including site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, road and drainage designs, foundation plans, and structural details.
Ensuring Compliance: Ensuring that civil construction drawings adhere to relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Collaborating with Engineering Team: Working closely with civil engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to refine design concepts, address technical challenges, and incorporate feedback into drawings.
Modifying and Revising Drawings: Making revisions to drawings as necessary based on feedback, changes in project requirements, or updated design information.
Generating Documentation: Creating construction documentation, including quantity take-offs, material specifications, and construction details.
Quality Control: Conducting quality checks on drawings to identify and rectify errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies.
Meeting Deadlines: Managing workload efficiently to meet project deadlines and milestones.
Staying Updated: Keeping abreast of advancements in civil engineering technology, AutoCAD software updates, and industry best practices.
