Position Available: Operations Officer

A Customs Clearance Company is seeking an experienced Operations Officer with expertise in customs clearance processes and familiarity with Jeddah Port. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of customs clearance procedures, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Indian or Pakistani nationals are preferred for this position.

Expected Salary: SAR 3000. The salary mentioned is subject to negotiation based on qualifications and experience.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Customs Clearance Processing: Facilitate the smooth clearance of goods through customs by preparing and submitting required documentation, including customs declarations, invoices, and shipping documents.
2. Coordination with Authorities: Liaise with customs officials, port authorities, and other relevant government agencies to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process.
3. Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on the status of their shipments, addressing inquiries, and offering guidance on customs procedures and requirements.
4. Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of all customs clearance transactions, including documentation related to duties, taxes, and fees paid or owed.
5. Tariff Classification: Determine the correct tariff classification and valuation of imported/exported goods in accordance with customs regulations and international trade agreements.
6. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential customs compliance issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure timely clearance of goods.
7. Customs Regulations Compliance: Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, tariff rates, and trade policies, and ensure that all customs clearance activities adhere to legal requirements and best practices.
8. Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on customs documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness, and address any discrepancies or errors promptly to avoid delays in clearance.
9. Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the operations, logistics, and finance departments to coordinate activities and streamline processes related to customs clearance and cargo movement.
10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in customs clearance operations, and implement appropriate measures to enhance service quality and client satisfaction.
