Job description
We are looking for serious candidate, for the role of Commis1 to our restaurant.
(Mamma Italia)
*Meal preparation, maintenance, logistics, safety, and sanitation. As well as cooking, cleaning, delivery, and other support duties as instructed by the chef.
• Cleans cuts, and prepares all fruits, vegetables, herbs, and salad items.
• Cook foods such as bacon, potatoes, eggs, vegetables, fruits, and pasta.
• Prepares dishes such as sandwiches, salads & vegetables.
• Serves food according to correct taste, temperature, and visual appeal.
• Maintains the area in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
• Maintains food safety temperature logs with direction from the Lead Cook and Sous Chef.
• Reads and refers to cooking reference material.
• Completes assigned tasks as quickly as is safely practical.
• Follows the restaurant policies and procedures.
• Other duties as required.
Requirements:
• Proven commercial kitchen experience.
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• The ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Previous experience in hospitality and f&B is required
• Initiative and passion for culinary
• Strong knowledge in food safety and hygiene
• English is required
Anyone without any the required experience will not be considered.
• Prepare special meals or substitute items, with a strong focus on italiam cuisine.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure proper cooking standards.
• Pull food from freezer storage and thaw safely in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish of dishes while maintaining accurate food logs.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of food being prepared.
• Update Food & Beverage service staff regarding menu specials and unavailable items.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven experience in preparing and presenting italian cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
