Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities of a Planning Engineer (Point-wise):
• Project Scheduling:
o Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Resource Planning:
o Estimate and allocate resources (manpower, materials, equipment) needed for project execution.
• Progress Monitoring:
o Track project progress against the baseline schedule and prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Forecasting & Updates:
o Update schedules periodically and forecast future performance to identify potential delays.
• Coordination with Teams:
o Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and execution teams to gather input and ensure alignment.
• Delay Analysis:
o Identify critical path delays, perform impact analysis, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Cost Control Integration:
o Coordinate with the cost control team to align time and cost baselines and manage budgets.
• Reporting & Documentation:
o Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and client meetings.
• Compliance & Standards:
o Ensure that planning practices meet contractual, safety, and quality standards.
• Meetings & Client Interaction:
o Attend project meetings, present schedule updates, and interact with clients or consultants on planning matters.
• Use of Software:
o Proficient in planning tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel for schedule development and tracking.
