Position: GIS, AIS & MV Switchgear Engineer

A Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear Engineer for SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) would focus on the design, maintenance, and commissioning of MV switchgear, with a particular emphasis on both GIS and AIS technologies. They would need to be skilled in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and potentially even commercial aspects of maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Troubleshooting, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
Carry out on-site troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance services for LV and MV switchgear, including GIS and AIS.
• Commercial Management:
Manage the commercial and technical aspects of maintenance services, including budgeting, scope control, and scheduling.
• Design and Engineering:
Design and develop mechanical components and systems for switchgear products, including circuit breakers, disconnect switches, and busbars, potentially using engineering software and documentation.
• Commisioning and Testing:
Participate in commissioning and testing of GIS and AIS switchgear, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and standards.
• Technical Support:
Provide technical support to service teams, customers, and potentially internal teams.
• Safety and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
• Project Management:
May be involved in project management aspects, such as procurement, scheduling, and cost control.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Your background :
• You must have completed an electrical engineering Bachelor degree , Master preferer
• You have a passion for innovative energy technology systems
• You must already have Five (5) experience in servicing switchgear and in the high-voltage sector (Subs Stations Preferer)
• Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of GIS and AIS switchgear technologies, including their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.


• Problem-Solving:
Good problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve issues related to switchgear performance.
• Communication:
Effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams, subcontractors, and customers.
• Electrical Engineering:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience:
1-4+ years of experience in the design, configuration, or maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, with a focus on medium voltage switchgear.
• Software Proficiency:
Experience with engineering switchgear configurator software, such as ELCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.

Specific Areas of Focus for SEC:
• GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear): Due to the high temperatures in Saudi Arabia, GIS is commonly used for MV switchgear.
• AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear):
AIS is another common type of switchgear, offering cost-effectiveness but requiring more space.

• Saudi Electricity Company (SEC):
Familiarity with the specific standards and procedures used by SEC in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
