HVAC Technician – Service & Installation (Cold Storage & Supermarket Refrigeration)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician specializing in the service, maintenance, and installation of cold storage systems, supermarket refrigeration units, chillers, and freezers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial refrigeration systems and be capable of working independently or as part of a team to ensure high-performance operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation of Refrigeration Systems:
Set up new cold storage refrigeration units, walk-in freezers, and display chillers for supermarkets. This includes refrigerant piping, electrical connections, and system calibration.
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to ensure efficient operation. Quickly identify issues such as refrigerant leaks, compressor faults, or temperature inconsistencies, and perform repairs as needed.
Troubleshooting & Emergency Repairs:
Respond promptly to service calls, including after-hours emergencies, to minimize downtime in critical environments such as food storage and retail.
System Optimization & Upgrades:
Recommend and implement energy-efficient solutions or equipment upgrades to improve system performance and reduce operational costs.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of installations, service visits, parts usage, and customer communications.


Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in HVAC/R installation and maintenance, particularly in commercial refrigeration systems.
Familiarity with a variety of systems such as scroll, screw, and reciprocating compressors, and evaporator and condenser units.
Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, pressure-temperature relationships, and refrigerant handling (EPA certification preferred).
Ability to read technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
Skilled with tools and instruments including manifold gauges, leak detectors, multimeters, and vacuum pumps.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
