As our Fire Alarm Technician, they will be responsible for a wide variety of in-field fire services such as installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, programming, and servicing fire alarm and fire protection systems. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:
Reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manuals;
Racking up panels, running wiring / cabling, installing devices and conduit;
Working with Emergency Lighting and Monitoring Systems;
Evaluating plans, customer requests, code, and non-conformance issues to determine specific solutions and recommendations for customers and management;
Trouble shooting - conducting investigations of various fire alarms, fire suppression, and sprinkler systems troubles and concerns;
Preparing stock materials for daily execution of assigned work orders and optimizing material utilization;
Supporting take off’s and preparing proposals/quotations as required;
Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities;
Ensuring safe work practices are followed by safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job;
Mentoring other team members, including apprentices and field service labour; and
Participating in 24/7 on-call/ call-out emergency service.
