1. Contract Analysis:
o Review and analyze contract documents, specifications, standard drawings, and special requirements with clients and subcontractors using the method of measurements (MOM).
2. Quantification and Costing:
o Control the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and calculate progress for billing.
o Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs.
3. Monitoring Construction Stages:
o Ensure costs align with forecasts and verify quantities executed on-site.
o Track changes to the design and/or construction work, and adjust budget projections accordingly.
4. Reporting:
o Prepare reports on cost variations or change orders as needed.
o Write detailed progress reports and provide updates.
5. Risk Management:
o Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
o Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
6. Site Measurement and Verification:
o Conduct site measurements and verify quantities.
o Visit to the site periodically to confirm actual site situation.
o Reconcile quantities as built.
7. Assessment of Interim Payments and Final Account:
o Evaluate interim payments and finalize accounts.
8. Legal and Contractual Advice:
o Provide contractors with advice and suggestions on legal and contractual issues.
o Ensure that expenses are minimized, and best deals are achieved.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Educational Background:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience:
o Proven working experience in Quantity Surveying (more than 10 years).
o Strong understanding of construction, material, and contract.
· Skills:
o Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
o Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to plan, organize, and strategize.
o Good verbal and written communication skills.
o Good time management skills.
· IT Skills:
o MS Excel & Excel VBA
o MS Word/PowerPoint
