Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Engineer (Mechanical Work) to join our team in Jubail. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing and managing the planning, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical engineering activities within oil, gas, and petrochemical projects. This position requires a highly skilled individual who can ensure that all mechanical work is carried out efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and timelines for mechanical work in oil, gas, and petrochemical projects.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of mechanical work.
Prepare detailed progress reports, including tracking of resources, materials, and personnel.
Oversee the planning and scheduling of all mechanical engineering activities, ensuring that all phases of the project are executed according to plan.
Monitor project progress, identify any delays, and take corrective actions to maintain the schedule.
Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
Prepare and update work breakdown structures (WBS), manpower loading, and resource allocation plans.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and quality control procedures.
Perform risk assessments and assist in mitigating potential project risks related to mechanical works.
Review and evaluate contractor performance to ensure that mechanical tasks are completed to specification.
Provide guidance and leadership to junior planning engineers and other project team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in planning and scheduling of mechanical work, preferably within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes in industrial environments.
Proficient in planning software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Excellent understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Fluency in English (both written and verbal); proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
Familiarity with local regulations, industry standards, and health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with mechanical EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
Familiarity with international project management standards and practices.
