The production manager is responsible for the planning, co-ordination and control of the production of hot-dipped galvanized steel
Should ensures that goods and services are produced efficiently; that they are of the right quality, quantity, and cost; and that they are produced on time, at the right price.
Will be responsible for labourers.
Additional responsibilities will involve:
drawing up a production schedule;
working out the human and materials resources needed;
estimating how long a job will take, costing it, and setting the quality standards;
monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed;
supervising and motivating a team of workers.
At the pre-production stage, the production supervisor is responsible for: installation of equipment based on the plant layout; materials handling; and production planning (including demand forecasting, production scheduling and ordering of material).
During the production stage, responsibilities encompass: production control (the sequencing of jobs, updating time schedules, etc); stock control; quality control; health and safety issues; and the maintenance and replacement of production equipment. Responsible for scheduling work, disciplinary matters, identifying training needs and progressing labourer skills.
Production manager is also involved with product design and purchasing.
Production manager may assume a more strategic role estimating future capacity, co-ordinating the work of planners and supervisors and liaising with buyers, sales and engineering staff.
Will be reporting to the Factory Manager
Requirements:
Experience in hot-dip galvanization factory an asset.
Knowledge of hot-dip galvanization essential
Background in industrial production preferred.
Organization, communication and education a key factor in consideration.
Able to read production drawings necessary
Must be able to monitor, supervise and manage others.
