Job Location- Bahrain

About The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Bar manager role to join the F&B team at Calexico Bahrain.
The main purpose of this position is to oversee the effective execution of the service and drinks.
Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role
● Continuity management
○ Ensure that assistant HOD is prepared & trained to take on all HOD roles
○ Ensure that a departmental senior is prepared and trained to take on assistant
HOD role
○ Ensure that the next departmental senior has been identified and developed
● Cost Control
○ Maintain a bev GP approved margins
○ Maintain cost of wastage below 1% of sales
○ Maintain up to date bev costing database
● Reporting & recording
○ Ensure opening and closing checklists are properly completed
○ Weekly cos/holding stock/Pgp report
○ Wastage/training/development stock recording
○ Continually work to eliminate any stock variances
● Menu development & product selection
○ Produce bespoke cocktail menus to the required brief & standard.
○ Exploit weekly specials on non moving stock.
○ Maintain a carefully curated product selection based on quality vs value to the
consumer.
● Distributor & brand relations
○ Continually work to improve and develop distributor relations and deals
● Departmental development
○ Ensure that all team members have current Personal Development plans
○ Ensure that 1on1 meetings are held monthly to discuss & review individual staff
PDP
○ Conduct weekly departmental meetings and weekly 1on1 with departmental
seniors
○ Team required to have 100% knowledge of menu spec and 100% knowledge of
house classic spec
○ Maintain team product knowledge.
○ Continually work to improve speed of service.
● Quality Control
○ Practice immaculate standards of dept cleanliness, product safety and
organization
○ Conduct weekly departmental quality audit
○ Spot check in shift quality control
● Event Management
○ Ensure that all beverage events are planned and executed to the required
standard
○ Ensure that all required cost related data is properly prepared and collected
○ Ensure that event sheets are correctly completed and provided to accounts for
billing
○ Actively seek out and plan event opportunities
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
● Fluent English written and spoken
● A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
● Experience working in a multicultural environment
