Introduction:
A Junior Accountant serves as an integral member of the finance team, contributing to the accurate maintenance of financial records, data entry, and various accounting tasks. Under the guidance of senior accountants or financial managers, they play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with accounting standards within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Transaction Processing and Record-Keeping:
Post vendor invoices, customer payments, sales invoices, expenses, and payroll transactions accurately in the ERP system.
Maintain cash flow records and cash registers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Update time sheets and oversee recurring payments efficiently.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Compile, analyse, and report financial data to provide insights into the organization's financial performance.
Create periodic reports including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, etc., ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Present financial data to relevant stakeholders such as managers and investors in a clear and concise manner.
Financial Management Support:
Assist in month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Aid in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements to support decision-making processes.
Manage credit, provide financial advice, and make forecasts to support strategic planning initiatives.
Accounting Procedures and Compliance:
Compile and analyse account data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial documents accurately and in accordance with GAAP or relevant standards.
Conduct audits to verify financial transactions, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
Recommend procedures and policies to maintain accounting controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on financial legislation and advise management on necessary operations to ensure adherence to legal requirements.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
Previous experience in accounting or finance roles is preferred but not required.
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Computer Proficiency:
