Job Description

Security guard duties and responsibilities include protecting property and people by monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access to buildings, conducting regular patrols, responding to emergencies and alarms, and maintaining detailed records of activities and incidents. They act as a visible deterrent to criminal activity, enforce security protocols, and liaise with authorities when necessary to ensure the safety and security of the premises they are assigned to.

Monitoring and Surveillance
Video Surveillance: Monitor and review CCTV footage for unusual activities or security breaches.
Security Systems: Inspect, test, and adjust security systems and equipment to ensure they are operational.

Alarm Response: Respond to alarms and disturbances by investigating and assessing the situation.
Access Control and Monitoring

Visitor Management: Check in and out visitors, employees, and other individuals, verifying their identification and authorization.

Entrance Security: Secure all exits, doors, and windows and monitor entry points to prevent unauthorized access.

Property Monitoring: Keep a vigilant watch over the premises to detect any suspicious behavior or potential hazards.

Patrols and Inspections
Perimeter Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the building, grounds, and surrounding areas, both on foot and in a vehicle, to maintain order.

Building Inspections: Routinely inspect premises for signs of forced entry or tampering.
Emergency Response

Incident Response: Take appropriate action in emergency situations and distress calls.
Emergency Protocols: Activate emergency protocols and communicate with authorities when needed.
Distress Calls: Provide assistance to people in need on the property.
Record Keeping and Reporting

Daily Logs: Keep detailed daily logs of activities, incidents, and any issues addressed.
Incident Reports: Prepare incident reports and complete other required record-keeping tasks.
Communication: Answer phones, provide information, and communicate effectively during incidents.
Deterrence and Enforcement
