Fabrication Engineer - Steel & Welding QA/QC

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Engineer with a strong background in steel fabrication, welding, and quality control. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in working with mild steel, stainless steel and galvanized iron. A deep understanding of fabrication drawings, cutting lengths, quantity take-offs, and quality assurance is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret and analyze fabrication drawings with precision

Plan and execute fabrication processes for stainless steel, mild steel, and galvanized iron materials

Prepare cutting lengths and optimize material usage to minimize wastage

Supervise and inspect welding works as per industry standards

Create and implement a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for fabrication projects

Conduct detailed quality inspections during and after fabrication

Calculate and extract material quantities from drawings (BOQ preparation)

Coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams to ensure timely execution

Maintain fabrication documentation and quality records

Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards at all stages of fabrication

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Fabrication / Production Engineering or relevant field

Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in steel fabrication and welding

Strong knowledge of stainless steel, mild steel, and galvanized iron properties and applications

Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication and structural drawings

Knowledge of various cutting methods

Hands-on experience with welding techniques (ARC,MIG, TIG)

Ability to prepare cutting plans and estimate material consumption accurately

Experience in preparing and executing Quality Assurance Plans

Sound knowledge of quality inspection procedures and standards

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and coordination abilities
