Coffee Roaster

Description:
We are on the search for a super enthusiastic, detail orientated roaster and production operative to join our small, but growing production team in our coffee roastery. Previous experience in coffee roasting is preferable, but not essential, and ample training will be provided for the right individual. What we’re really looking for is a keen interest in speciality coffee as this role is a great springboard for anyone looking to build a career in the industry.
As a key member of a small, passionate production team, you will be getting involved in almost all aspects of the roastery operations from roasting to production, picking and packing, to warehouse duties and even quality control and new coffee selection.

This role can be hard work at times but is rewarded by a casual and aspirational working environment. You’ll get to work with some of the best coffees in the world, not to mention enviable vintage roasting machines and state of the art brewing equipment.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Coffee roasting duties including:
- Production roasting (training provided)
- Playing an active role in the quality control procedure
- Sample roasting
- Roasting equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance
- Helping with roast profile review and development
- Assisting with new coffee selection


Coffee production duties including:
- Setting packing equipment up for production
- Packing coffee into bags
- Picking and packing orders (wholesale, retail and D2C)
- Cleaning production areas and equipment
- Setting up coffee cuppings and actively participating in cupping sessions.
- Maintaining daily, weekly and monthly records and adhering to SALSA standards.
- General warehouse duties
- Actively contributing to a positive team atmosphere
