Brief DescripƟon:
The IntegraƟon Engineer is responsible for enabling seamless data and workflow integraƟon
between manufacturing systems, enterprise applicaƟons, and plant-level automaƟon systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either computer science or chemical
engineering with hands-on experience in system integraƟon, preferably using tools like BizTalk,
and should understand refinery or oil & gas operaƟons.
ResponsibiliƟes:
Design, develop, and maintain integraƟons between manufacturing systems (MES,
LIMS, CMMS, DCS, SCADA) and enterprise systems (ERP, SAP, cloud plaƞorms).
Understand plant workflows in refining or oil & gas and translate them into
integraƟon logic.
Work with OT systems like PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and historians (PI, IP.21, PHD) to enable
secure and structured data flow.
Develop API-based interfaces and messaging workflows using tools such as BizTalk,
MuleSoŌ, or Azure IntegraƟon Services.
Implement and maintain data mappings, transformaƟon logic, and message rouƟng
between systems.
Create interface control documents, test cases, and sequence diagrams for
integraƟon scenarios.
Ensure system integraƟon follows standards such as ISA-95, B2MML, OPC UA, and
ISA-88.
Collaborate with control systems, IT, and business teams for alignment on
architecture and data governance.
Perform system and integraƟon tesƟng, including Factory Acceptance TesƟng (FAT)
and Site Acceptance TesƟng (SAT).
Monitor and troubleshoot integraƟon failures; ensure high availability and reliability
of interfaces.
Preferred Candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Chemical
Engineering with strong coding/integration skills.
4+ years of experience in system integration in the refinery, petrochemical, or oil &
gas industry.
Experience with BizTalk Server, or equivalent integration platforms (MuleSoft, Azure
Integration, Boomi).
Knowledge of communication protocols such as OPC (UA/DA), MQTT, REST/SOAP,
and industrial data formats (XML, JSON).
Exposure to SAP modules like PM, MM, PP, and QM in manufacturing or
maintenance contexts.
Working knowledge of plant automation systems and process workflows.
Strong scripting or programming background (C#, Python, PowerShell, or
equivalent).
Understanding of cybersecurity and network considerations for IT/OT integration.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with manufacturing execuƟon systems (MES), laboratory informaƟon
management systems (LIMS), and computerized maintenance systems (CMMS).
Experience with data contextualizaƟon and Ɵme-series databases.
Understanding of refinery operaƟons such as unit producƟon, maintenance cycles,
quality checks, and inventory movements.
CerƟficaƟons in OPC, Azure IntegraƟon, or SAP integraƟon tools are a plus.
Strong communicaƟon and documentaƟon skills, especially for working across IT, OT,
and process engineering teams.
