Job Description

Job Summary:

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the company's health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting and possess strong knowledge of safety standards, particularly within plastics, fabrication, and signage production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local HSE regulations (e.g. OSHA, WHS, or relevant national standards).
- Lead safety training, toolbox talks, and employee induction sessions.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Advise management on safety improvements and hazard control strategies.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize safety risks during signage installation and plastics handling.
- Manage waste disposal and hazardous materials in line with environmental standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of plastics production, fabrication, and/or signage industry safety standards is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with MSDS, emergency preparedness, and fire safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office and safety management systems.
