We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Factory Manager with a strong focus on business development to join our team at Union Wood Works. In this dual-role position, you will oversee the daily operations of our wood works factory, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of production, while also playing a key role in driving business growth, expanding our client base, and identifying new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage daily factory operations, ensuring production runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets quality standards.
Oversee production schedules, ensuring products are completed on time and within budget.
Ensure that factory equipment and machinery are properly maintained and operating efficiently.
Manage inventory levels, ensuring raw materials are stocked, and waste is minimized.
Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Assist in leading and supervising the factory workforce, ensuring high levels of productivity, quality, and safety.
Train and develop employees on factory procedures and ensure adherence to company policies.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential clients and markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies that enhance market reach and product offerings.
Assist in preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals to expand the company’s client base.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the company stays ahead in the market.
Support in cost control and efficiency improvements within the factory.
Provide regular reports on production progress, business development activities, and growth opportunities.
Assist the Factory Manager with strategic planning for business growth and operational improvements.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required); a degree in manufacturing, business, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in business development, including client management and new market identification.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Knowledge of wood works manufacturing processes and machinery is an advantage.
