Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Jubail. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in safety management within the oil, gas, or petroleum industry. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety of workers and contractors on-site, as well as ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in line with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety measures are being followed by employees and contractors.
Provide safety training and induction programs to employees and contractors, ensuring all staff are well-informed on safety protocols.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for improving safety procedures.
Work closely with the management team to ensure all safety compliance standards are met, and report any non-compliance issues.
Conduct regular safety drills and emergency response simulations to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
Advise on the safe use of equipment, machinery, and tools, ensuring proper maintenance and safety procedures are in place.
Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and ISO certifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
NEBOSH or IOSH certification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the oil, gas, or petroleum industry, with a proven track record of safety management.
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the oil and gas sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage safety programs effectively.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
Fluency in both English and Arabic is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
Must be willing to work on-site in Jubail and travel to various locations as required.
Ability to work long hours and in challenging environmental conditions.
