Job Description: Fit-Out Project Engineer
Position Title: Fit-Out Project Engineer
Location: Riyadh
Reports To: Project Manager
Department: Construction / Project Management
Job Overview:
The Fit-Out Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of interior fit-out projects. This includes ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The role requires a strong understanding of fit-out construction processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Coordination:
o Review project specifications and drawings to ensure a thorough understanding of the scope and requirements.
o Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and budgets.
o Coordinate with design teams, architects, and clients to finalize plans and specifications.
o Organize and facilitate regular project meetings with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
o Ensure the coordination of the project site, including the allocation of resources and materials.
2. Procurement & Contract Management:
o Assist in the selection and procurement of subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
o Review contractor and supplier proposals, negotiate terms, and prepare contracts.
o Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
o Monitor subcontractor performance and manage any issues related to delays or quality.
3. Quality Control & Safety Management:
o Ensure that all work is carried out according to relevant industry standards, building codes, and health & safety regulations.
o Implement and monitor quality control procedures and ensure that the work meets design specifications and client expectations.
o Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, quality, and safety, and address any issues that arise.
4. Site Supervision:
o Oversee daily site operations to ensure smooth progress and efficient management of resources.
o Supervise and support on-site teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
o Ensure all project activities are compliant with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
5. Problem Solving & Issue Resolution:
o Proactively identify potential project risks or challenges and develop mitigation plans.
o Address any unforeseen issues or changes in the project scope promptly, minimizing impact on timelines and costs.
o Work with the project manager to resolve disputes and handle any claims.
6. Client Liaison & Reporting:
o Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring they are kept informed of progress, any changes, or delays.
o Prepare and submit regular progress reports, cost estimates, and any necessary documentation to the client and project manager.
o Ensure that client expectations are met or exceeded, and facilitate client feedback for continuous improvement.
7. Financial Management:
o Monitor project costs and track expenditures, ensuring the project stays within budget.
o Approve invoices and manage payment schedules for contractors and suppliers.
o Prepare cost forecasts and assist with financial reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fit-out / Joinery Industry in KSA
• Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of interior fit-out processes, Method of Statements, and safety regulations.
o Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, etc.).
o Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and contract management processes.
• Communication: Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions to overcome challenges.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring quality work and compliance with design specifications.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadline
• Experience in Specific Sectors: Prior experience in commercial, residential, or retail fit-out projects.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time position based at the project site or in an office setting.
• Some travel may be required based on the location of projects.
• Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
