_Job Title:_ Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Steel Structures
_Reports to:_ Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Steel Structures will be responsible for providing commercial and contractual expertise for mechanical and steel structure projects. This role will involve managing costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and on time.
_Key Responsibilities:_
1. _Cost Estimation:_ Prepare and manage cost estimates for mechanical and steel structure projects.
2. _Tendering:_ Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate tender submissions.
3. _Contract Administration:_ Administer contracts, including preparing and issuing contract documents, managing variations, and negotiating claims.
4. _Cost Control:_ Track and manage project costs, including preparing and managing budgets, tracking expenditure, and identifying areas for cost savings.
5. _Risk Management:_ Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks associated with mechanical and steel structure projects.
6. _Steel Structure Expertise:_ Provide expertise on steel structure projects, including design, fabrication, and installation.
7. _Collaboration:_ Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on time.
_Requirements:_
1. _Qualifications:_ Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
2. _Experience:_ Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical and steel structure projects.
3. _Professional Membership:_ Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
4. _Skills:_
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and steel structure projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and relevant software, such as construction management software.
